12 months before

Start your plan

  • Contact IRC to create your reentry plan
  • Identify your housing options and county
  • Start gathering documents you'll need (birth certificate, SSN)
  • Talk to your case manager about IRC services

6 months before

Build your network

  • Connect with a Co-Builder in your target county
  • Begin inPOWER™ curriculum if available at your facility
  • Apply for benefits you'll need (SNAP, Medicaid, housing vouchers)
  • Start your employment plan with a vocational partner

30 days before

Confirm everything

  • Confirm housing address and move-in date
  • Verify your ID and documents are ready to pick up
  • Confirm your first appointment within 72 hours of release
  • Have the IRC navigator number saved: 317.412.6750

Release day

You are not alone

  • Call IRC the morning you're released
  • Go directly to your confirmed housing
  • Attend your first Co-Builder meeting within 72 hours
